Aracari Kitchen: A good spot at the Crossroads

When you think of the Crossroads of America, what's the first thing that comes to mind? The Coke bottle? The Wabash River? One thing that will now come to mind when I think of Terre Haute, Indiana is the cute little restaurant on Wabash Avenue called the Aracari Kitchen. Absolutely everything on their menu is vegan and almost everything is gluten free. Not too long ago, I was fortunate enough to get to hang out with my cousin and we decided to check this place out together. We have absolutely no regrets.

I got the "To The East" salad which consists of spinach, arugula, romaine, napa cabbage, carrot, radish, cucumber, and a ginger peanut dressing. However, they were out of that dressing so instead they used the maple pumpkin one that they normally put on the Buddha bowl. They also topped it with sesame seeds and black flax seeds. The dressing had the right kind of spice and it really added quite a punch to the salad. The seeds they topped it with really made it aesthetically pleasing, perfect for Instagramming.

Mu cousin got the "SoCal" sandwich but not as a sandwich. She is on a gluten free diet and has other diet restrictions so she instead opted to have it as a salad. It's a lentil burger patty with tomato and spinach and a lemon herb dressing. There would normally be avocado on it but she did not get it with avocado. She thought it was really good. She also tried their iced coffee which she also liked.

This is a place we would go to again. The service was top notch because the employees were really knowledgeable about their products and as a customer, I can tell that they enjoy what they do. It is also not too crowded there, meaning it is reasonably quiet, yet the views of downtown Terre Haute are absolutely stellar! If you are ever in the Wabash Valley region, please do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem in this wonderful area.
