Health foodie life hacks

It seems like we live in a world of inescapable life hacks. We think our old ways are totally fine until we learn a different way to do it. Then we think it's genius!
You can be a genius in the kitchen too. With a few simple life hacks I'll be sharing with you today, you too will feel so food-smart.
1. Wheatgrass is the new matcha. Matcha green tea powder is glorified for having the benefits of green tea in concentrated form. However, it's also very high in caffeine which some people object to. Wheatgrass is caffeine free but has the same benefits of matcha, as well as a near identical taste.
2. Use chia seeds for a sugar free jam. Traditional jam has so many ingredients, most of which are not the healthiest. Chia seeds have gelling and setting powder, eliminating the need for sugar and pectin when cooked on a stovetop. The sugar is then replaced with protein and healthy fats.
3. Homemade peanut butter. When you DIY your peanut butter, it has a smoother consistency than any store bought peanut butter and has only one ingredient. It's a super easy DIY too. All you have to do is run your nuts through a food processor until the natural oils are released and a smooth butter forms.
4. Green juices can be efficient. I don't have a juicer so when I want a green juice, I have to use a blender and a fine mesh strainer. One day, I was making green juice and my usual strainer was in the dishwasher so I used a container for powdered sugar. I discovered that the powdered sugar container still keeps the pulp out but allows more of the juice to get through.
5. Gluten free baking doesn't have to be difficult. If you use paleo baking recipes for your gluten free baking needs, you will usually only need coconut flour, almond flour, tapioca flour, and ingredients you probably already have in your house and are not hard to find if you don't. They do often call for eggs but those are very easy to substitute with ground flaxseeds so paleo recipes can be made vegan.
I hope these life hacks can help you to eat healthier with ease and if you have any other life hacks to share, please feel free to share them in the comments. Especially life hacks that only require things that aren't hard to find and don't require a lot of ingredients. Maybe I will compile some life hacks from the comments on this post in a future life hacks post.
